This contract is between The Spectre Review, hereafter referred to as the Publisher, and the author
whose name is indicated below. The Author grants permission to include their work in The Spectre Review Literary Magazine.

Rights Purchased: It is understood and agreed that the Publisher may use this Work only in the above-mentioned magazine as well as in any online promotions or advertisements of the magazine. The Publisher may also reprint the Work one additional time as part of a collection or anthology. Unless previously discussed with the Published, the use of the work by the Publisher entails the assignment of First North American Serial Rights for publication in the English language anywhere in North America.

Payments and Royalties: For the rights granted above, the Author will receive a payment of
one (1) free copy of the Spectre Review print magazine in which their work appears.

Author’s Warranties and Indemnities: The Author warrants that they are the sole author of
the Work, that the Work is original and unpublished (unless previously discussed), no one has reserved the rights granted in this agreement and the Work does not contain any libelous material.

Changes in Text or Title: The publisher will make no major alterations of the Work’s text or title
without the Author’s written approval. The Publisher reserves the right to make copy-editing
changes.

Venue: This agreement shall be deemed executed under the laws of the state of California.
California State Law shall be the applicable law of this agreement.
